Jakarta – Two international golf events will take place in Indonesia. The Indonesian Golf Association (PGI) is ready to host the Indonesia Open and the Asia Pacific Cup. The Executive Board of the Indonesian Golf Association (PB PGI) will be busy throughout August 2022. PGI is preparing to immediately hold the prestigious annual international championship event, the Mandiri Indonesia Open 2022, and then the Simone Asia Pacific Cup. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, two international golf championships will enliven the field at Pondok Indah, Jakarta. The Chairperson of PGI explained that the Mandiri Indonesia Open 2022, which is part of the Asian Tour, will run from 04 to 07 August 2022. After only 10 days later, PGI will stage the 2022 Simone Asia Pacific Cup. Included in the Ladies Asian Tour Series, the Asia Pacific Cup. will run for almost two weeks from 18 to 20 August 2022. PB PGI hopes that the holding of two international events can become a coaching arena for Indonesian amateur golf athletes as well as support the revival of the national sports industry. In order to get outstanding golfers, PGI conducts a strict selection.

Murdaya Poo hopes that Indonesian athletes will be motivated to perform optimally in two major championships in the country, especially with the opportunity to win large amounts of cash prizes. The Mandiri Indonesia Open 2022 international golf championship provides prizes worth a total of 500 thousand US dollars. Simone Asia Pacific Cup competes for money worth a total of 750 thousand United States dollars or more than 11 billion in rupiah.
