Jakarta 09 August, the 2024 Jakarta Golf Club Championship has just finished. For this edition, Benita Kasiadi has confirmed hisself as the best on the golf course, which is often known as the Rawamangun Golf Course. Benny, nicknamed Benita Kasiadi, played quite stable throughout the 3-day tournament, with a score of 68, 70, 67, or a total of 205 strokes, making him the best player for this tournament.
When journalists asked about the secret to victory this time, Benny answered, “What is certain is that I practice regularly for 4 hours every day. Playing here, you must have a mature game plan, and you also have a stock shot, and coincidentally, the Jakarta Golf Club Course suits my hitting character. My typical shot is a draw, and this court layout is mostly all draws.”Benny said
In second place were 2 players, namely Syukrizal and Rory Hie. These two players had won the Indonesia Tourism Golf Pro Series tournament last year and could not stop Benny from lifting the trophy. Sukrizal and Rory collected a total of 209 strokes, or 1 under par.
There is a unique history for Benny on this course, his father, Kasiadi, is the only Indonesian golf player who holds the title of Indonesian Open champion; he won it quite a long time ago, namely in 1989. And at that time the Indonesian Open was held at this place. So this father and son made this golf course a historic place for the Kasiadi family.
A little history about Jakarta Golf Club is the oldest golf course in Indonesia, first established in 1872 under the name Batavia Golf Club, pioneered by A. Gray and TC Wilson, and located in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta. Over time, this golf course moved to the Rawamangun area, East Jakarta, in 1934 and changed its name to Jakarta Golf Club in 1950. Currently, Jakarta Golf Cub stands on an area of 36 hectares and consists of 18 holes flanked by beautiful panoramic views. Jakarta Golf Club may look easy, but it is actually quite challenging, with large trees guarding the fairway and many bunkers with water hazard placements that make this course offer many challenges for all golfers of all abilities.
