This Balikpapan-born golfer finally got first place after playing three rounds at Palm Springs Golf & Country Club with a total of 214 strokes, or -2 points. Rory beat host golfer Dana (A), who managed to collect a total of 215 strokes, and was followed by Syukrizal with 216 strokes, Benita Kasiadi and Asep Saefullah with a total of 217 strokes.
So with this result, Rory Hie is entitled to his first title in the Indonesia Tourism Golf Pro Series. Rory did not get this title without a fight. With the provision of leading the second round, Syukrizal played quite well until the 12th hole, but after that he got three bogeys on the next hole, so he was overtaken by Rory and Dana. On the 17th hole, Dana was actually leading with -2 points and Rory with -1, but on the last hole, Dana couldn’t maintain his lead; instead, he got Boggey, while Rory, with his cleverness, managed to get a birdie, so Rory was entitled to get the first podium.
“Actually, I didn’t know the score at that time, in the last hole I knew was that if I went to the right (of the fairway), there would be nothing, but I didn’t think that I took too far to the right, so I had to innovate to borrow hole 10 to reach the green more safely, and when putting, it works well,” said Rory.
