Jakarta, 21 December, A bright morning at the Pondok Indah Golf Course marked the start of SIMONEAPACCUP 2023. The first day was filled with enthusiasm from the spectators and players. The tournament, which competed for individual and team titles, was attended by 58 participants from 16 countries.
Star players such as Atthaya Thitikul (THA) and Jaravee Boonchant (THA) played in the same flight with other LPGA star players, namely Nasa Hataoka (JPN) and Moeka Nishihata (JPN). The match was exciting because, apart from them playing individually, they also had to be able to play as a team.
The temporary leader of the standings is occupied by 2 Korean players, namely Hyosong Lee and Dayeon Lee, while 2 more players come from Thailand, namely Atthaya Thitikul and Phannarai Meesom-Us, with a total of 68 strokes or a score of 4 under par. Meanwhile, players like Minbyeol Kim (KOR) got 2 under points, or a total of 70 strokes, and Nasa Hataoka (JPN) got even par points, or a total of 72 strokes.
From Indonesia , Kristina Natali Yoko and Elaine Widjaja only managed to get 4 over par, or a total of 76 strokes.
For the team standings, it is led by the Korean team 5 Minsol Kim (Par) and Hyosong Lee (-4) with 4 underpar points, followed by team Thailand 2 Atthaya Thitikul (-4) and Jaravee Boonchant (+1) with 3 underpar points, and team Thailand 4 Budsabakom Sukapan (+1) and Phannarai Meesom-Us (-4).
With this result, the competition on the second day will be even more interesting. The four leaders of the standings are very likely to be overtaken by several other players because the point difference is still very close. As well as team competition, the Korean 5 team must be wary of the two teams from Thailand.
