Congratulations from GolfplusoneMedia to the winner of the recently concluded Mandiri Indonesian Open, Gaganjeet Bhullar from India who finished at 20 under par after playing all 4 rounds in the 60s.

Asked how he managed to handle the pressure, Gaganjeet said, “Playing in the leading group, there was always some sort of pressure playing in your mind. One good thing was I started one shot behind the leaders. The pressure was not about competing with anyone else but in proving to myself.

In all my previous wins I have played well on Sundays especially on the Front Nine. Around the 9th hole I kept motivating myself and kept telling myself, Sunday afternoon Back Nine is the most important thing. “

Gaganjeet goes on to pay homage to Golf’s leading greats Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Greg Norman who always talked about “the Sunday Back Nine.”

“I’m glad I played really well on the Back Nine as Birdies on 10th and the 45min stretch (where he birdied ) 13th, 14th and 15th, that kept me going.”

When asked about what he thought of the fans in Indonesia, Gaganjeet had this to say, “Fans were totally in the game. From the 1st Tee box, there were many familiar faces and from the media as well. I’ve known so many of you for a long, long time so that really helped me actually so it was great! There’s enough crowds here who are cheering you on and they want you to win so that actually helped me a lot.”

Congratulations once again! After waiting for 2 long years, the winner of the Mandiri Indonesia Open 2022, Gaganjeet Bhullar!

Fun Fact: Gaganjeet’s last win on Indonesian soil was the BRI-JCB Indonesian Open, 6 years ago in 2016. This is his 3rd Indonesia Open title.
